On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the Link Light Rail 1 and 2 lines connected at Judkins Station with a ribbon cutting ceremony. I was on site to cover the festivities for this historic day, photographing thousands of attendees waiting to ride the train fully over the I-90 floating bridge for the first time. The day began with remarks from Governor Ferguson, Mayor Wilson, Senator Cantwell, Senator Murray, CEO of Sound Transit Dow Constantine, and many others involved with the project. Music, performances, crafts, and community vendors popped up at stations in Seattle, Mercer Island, Bellevue, and Redmond to celebrate the feat of the engineering marvel.
